As a result of a Benchmarking Activity conducted last May 4-5, 2022 at Cavite State University, the CNSC Labo Campus with the support of Dr. Marlo M. De La Cruz, College President takes the 1st step in its journey to make CNSC as the Kaong Research, Extension, and Production Center in the Bicol Region.
Ten (10) faculty members headed by the Campus Director, Dr. Ricardo D. Diño and College Dean, Dr. Arden Peejay L. Ezaki completed the 3-day short course on kaong production and processing technologies facilitated by CvSU SPRINT Center last September 28-30 at Cavite State University.
Site visit and actual conduct of post-harvest technologies such as sugar and vinegar production were just some of the skills learned during the training.
With this, it opens opportunities to strengthen the kaong industry in the Bicol Region through CNSC engagement on research, extension and production activities.
Initially, one hectare of land in Labo Campus is allotted for the establishment of kaong plantation within this year.
